We can be the generation to stop children dying of hunger

THANK YOU

Thanks for your fantastic support for Generation Nutrition and our campaign work on child malnutrition!

The international campaign closed on 15th January 2017.

We are proud of our achievements, especially:

1. The inclusion of actions to prevent acute malnutrition in the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). See Goal 2 here

2. Reaching 93,000 signatures for our global petition on the same topic in 2014-15. The petition was handed in to the Irish Ambassador to the UN, David Donoghue, one of the co-chairs in the negotiations on the SDGs.

3. Setting up Generation Nutrition national campaigns in different countries, including ones with high levels of malnutrition. This helped bring our message about the need to treat and prevent malnutrition directly to national political leaders. As a result of strong local and national campaign work, decisions were taken in France, the Philippines, Kenya and other countries to prioritise nutrition in national policies.

We want you to continue to be the generation that brings an end to child deaths from malnutrition. We want you to continue to be Generation Nutrition.

More than 80 non-governmental organisations supported our campaign between 2014 and 2016. To follow the work of the six members of our international steering group, please click on the links below.

1
World Leaders Act Now
Together our voices are stronger. Our leaders will hear our call to urgently provide needed resources and act to reduce the number of dangerously malnourished children by millions every year.
2
Support Communities
Governments can empower communities to cut the number of children who become dangerously malnourished and treat those who do by ensuring access to the basics: healthcare, water and nutritious food
3
Every Child has a future
Together, every year we could save the lives of 1 million children and make sure that over 50 million others have the chance to not only survive, but thrive.

Campaign news

On 27th September Generation Nutrition organised a webinar entitled 'How can aid and domestic financing for nutrition be scaled up?'
Only half of the states with the highest levels of malnutrition have set national targets on wasting, stunting or exclusive breastfeeding.
