You have the power to save the lives of 2.6 million children every year and improve the lives of millions more.
Malnutrition is a direct or indirect cause of nearly half of all under-five deaths and can result in irreparable damage to the long-term development of each child affected by it. This blights the individual, the community and the economic output of the whole nation.
But it does not have to be this way. We know how to treat every acutely malnourished child, so that they survive and recover and how to prevent others becoming malnourished in the first place. Whilst there is still a massive gap in the resources needed for improving nutrition, our unified voice can ensure a sustained increase in funding and in the scale and quality of actions undertaken.
Thanks in part to your consistent support, every government has signed up to the new Sustainable Development Goals. The commitment made in Goal 2 is clear. End Hunger. This includes the target of, by 2030, ending all forms of malnutrition. These ambitious goals and targets are the result of sustained pressure from citizens across the world but they will require the power of all of our voices to ensure they do not fall off the radar. Ensuring our governments act is our responsibility.
We are the generation that can ensure our governments act to meet this objective. We are the generation who can save the lives of 2.6 million children every year. We are the generation who can consign malnourishment to the history books. We are Generation Nutrition.
Individual governments will be key to delivering the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals. Alongside our global asks, we will be sharing information on our country-specific work in the near future. Check here again soon for updates or sign up now for our campaign e-newsletter.
