Generation Nutrition is a campaign made up of over 15 charities worldwide. You can view a full list of them in the Partners section. The website,, is operated by Action Against Hunger-UK, one of the 15 coalition organisations, on behalf of Generation Nutrition, a global campaign aimed at ending child deaths from acute malnutrition. Action Against Hunger-UK is a charity registered in England and Wales, with registered charity number 1047501. The information collected via the site, including your personal information, will be distributed by Action Against Hunger to the coalition partners that make up Generation Nutrition.

Action Against Hunger (“We”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

This policy (together with our terms of use, below, and any other documents referred to in the policy) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be used. Please read the following carefully to understand how your personal data will be used.

By using you consent to the collection and use of information by us and the coalition partners as outlined in this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use this site.

Who is responsible for your personal information collected via the Generation Nutrition website?

Action Against Hunger-UK is responsible for protecting your personal information which is collected via the Generation Nutrition site. If you were directed to the campaign website via one of the coalition partners, and signed up to receive updates about the campaign, that coalition partner will be given access to any personal information you provide via the site. Once they have access to your data they will be responsible for processing that data in accordance with applicable legislation and should use it in accordance with their own privacy policies and any preferences you have already expressed to them.

Sharing of your personal information amongst coalition partners

Your information will be shared by us with other members of the Generation Nutrition campaign. Where you have signed the petition after receiving a link from a particular coalition partner, this will be the partner with whom your details are shared. Your details will continue to be dealt with in accordance with any preferences you have previously expressed to that coalition partner and with their privacy policy.

Where you have no previous affiliation with a coalition partner, and you have visited the campaign website independently, your information will be shared with a coalition member in accordance with a sharing arrangement between coalition members. You will be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving any further information from any coalition member who contacts you.

Sharing of your personal information with the targets of our petition

We may also share with other organisations (including the targets of our campaigns) the fact that you have signed a petition or made a comment on our website.

Sharing of your personal information with others

We may also allow our staff, consultants, or other providers acting on our behalf to access and use your personal information for the purposes which you have provided it to us. If we do this, we will not give those individuals or organisations any rights to use your personal information (or contact you) except in accordance with our instructions.

We may disclose aggregate statistics about our site visitors, customers in order to describe our services to prospective partners and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, however these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

We may also disclose personal information if required to do so by law or if we believe that such action is necessary to protect and defend the rights, property or personal safety of Generation Nutrition, our website or our visitors and for other lawful purposes.

We will not sell your personal information, and we will not pass your personal information to any independent third parties except in the circumstances set out above.

What is a cookie – more information

How is your information used?

We will use the information you provide to us to:

fulfil your request of participating in the Generation Nutrition campaign; if you have opted in to receive updates, provide you with  information about the campaign, recent developments and events; provide a personalised service to you when you visit our website e.g. by customising the content, language and/or layout of our pages for each individual user; record any contact we have with you; prevent or detect fraud or abuses of our website and enable third parties to carry out technical, logistical or other functions on our behalf; in aggregate (and therefore anonymously) to profile use of the Generation Nutrition website and carry out research on our users' demographics and behaviour to help us gain a better understanding of how our users navigate and use our website, and to enable us to improve our service to you; if you have opted in to receive updates, provide you with information, other campaigns or appeals from us and other coalition members associated with the campaign which we or they think may be of interest to you, as explained below.

When submitting your personal information, you will be given the option to be included in mailings or other contacts from Generation Nutrition coalition members. We (and the other coalition members) will not use personal contact details to send you further information unless you opt-in to receive further information when signing the petition. If you request this information by ticking a box on our site, and later decide that you no longer wish to be contacted, you will always be offered the opportunity to unsubscribe from that communication at all points of contact and hence decline to receive further information from us or the relevant coalition member. We will never intentionally misuse or allow others to misuse any personal data we collect or hold.  

What do we do with information you provide when signing a petition?

If you add your name to the petition, we will share this information with the targets of our campaign.

Please help us to keep your personal details confidential by never sharing personal information relating to you or anyone else on the site.

Anyone who accesses our website will be able to see any information you make publicly available via the site. Other visitors to the website are subject to the website terms and conditions but we cannot guarantee that they will comply with them. Therefore, please do not disclose any personal information relating to you or anyone else when making any contributions to the website.

Access to and changes to your personal information    

We will keep a record of information provided by you. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information which Generation Nutrition holds about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. Please note that if you have signed up directly through a named charity, then you must contact that charity for your information.

Users under 18

When you provide your details or contributions to us you are confirming that you are over 18 years of age or are a minor with parental consent. You agree that any information you provide to us about yourself upon registration or at any time will be true and accurate. If you are under 18, please make sure that you obtain your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information via our website. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information. Also, if you do use our site to obtain information about campaigning or supporting the work of Generation Nutrition, please let an adult know.

Fraudulent online activity

No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Generation Nutrition cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to try to ensure its security both on our systems and while in transit between our systems and the companies who provide us with various services (see How is your information used?).

Generation Nutrition endeavours to prevent online fraudulent activity taking place. In order to prevent this activity from happening we have put additional security checks in place on our website.

Where is your information stored?

Information which you submit via our website is sent to a computer located in the United States. We do this to process the information and send you the information you have requested. Information submitted by you may be transferred by us to our other offices and to other reputable third party organisations as referred to in this policy and these may be situated outside the EEA.

Where data is transferred outside the EEA we have taken all the necessary steps to protect the security of your data and that all data protection rules have been complied with where necessary.

Emails aren't always secure, and they may be interrupted or changed after they've been sent. We do not accept liability if this happens.
